Questions.

If yours isn’t here, just ask. Nothing about your dog is going to surprise us.

My dog will not sit still.
Correct, and neither does any other dog. Sitting still is not a requirement and never has been. We shoot fast, we shoot a lot, and we work with whatever your dog is willing to give us that day.
What if we get nothing usable?
It has not happened yet. But if your dog genuinely will not cope, we stop, you pay nothing, and we’ll offer you a session somewhere quieter instead. No dog gets pushed through it for the sake of a photo.
Is the flash safe for dogs?
Yes. Studio flash is a single brief burst with no sound and no heat, and the overwhelming majority of dogs do not react at all. We always test one away from your dog first and watch their response. If they don’t like it, we switch to continuous light instead.
Can I bring more than one dog?
Please do. $25 for each dog after the first. We’ll photograph them together and separately so you can hang them as a set.
Can I be in the photos?
Yes, and you should. If you’d rather not be recognisable, the hands-only shot — your hands on their chest or head — is consistently the one people order biggest.
My dog is reactive to other dogs.
Tell us in the booking form. We’ll give you the first or last slot of the day when it’s quietest, and we’ll make sure there’s no queue of dogs beside you. This is common and completely fine.
What about cats, rabbits, birds, horses?
Cats and small animals are welcome at indoor venues if they travel well in a carrier — but honestly, most cats are happier photographed at home. Ask us about a home visit. Horses are a full session, not a pop-up.
How soon do I get the photos?
Your 6×4 print is handed to you on the day. Digital photos arrive within five days. A Mini Session or Full Portrait gallery stays open for two weeks.
Do I have to buy prints?
No. Your session fee covers what’s listed and there is no minimum spend. After a Full Portrait you get $10 off any A4 print, if you want one.
What happens if it rains?
Indoor venues run regardless. Outdoor markets follow the market — if it’s cancelled, we’ll move your booking to the next date or refund the deposit, whichever you’d rather.
Will you use my photos for marketing?
Only if you tick the box. It’s opt-in, it’s not a condition of booking, and you can change your mind later by emailing us.
Are you insured?
Yes — $20 million public liability. Venues and market organisers can request the certificate of currency any time.
